in the Great Room.  If you missed the evening show, here’s your chance

to view a truly touching documentary about a Polish woman

who hid Jewish families from the Nazis during the war. 

Refreshments will follow.  Sign-up sheet will be at the reception desk.

 

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS/BUY A HOT DOG: Tuesday, August 31 at 11:30. 

We have planned a special lunch to collect donations for our troops. 

Purchase a hot dog, chips, and a drink for $5.00.  All proceeds will be

donated to our "Military Outreach" Program

through the Adam Conboy Memorial Foundation.

 

NOSTALGIA  DAY:  Monday, September 27 at 12:30 PM

in the Great Room. 

Step back in time with us via a one hour film

“Things That Aren’t There Anymore” , narrated by longtime

sports announcer Bill Campbell that uses interviews,

home movies, news footage, rare photos, popular music and old jingles

to awaken memories of the Delaware Valley’s past. 

Trivia discussion and light refreshments following the film.

BEGINNER’S PRIMER ON USING A COMPUTER: Monday’s

Sept. 13, 20, 27 and Oct. 4 and 11 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. 

Instructor: Gerry Roth.  

Limited to 8 students. Cost: $35.00. This course will cover the basics

of the parts of the computer and how they work. 

 

SENDING/RECEIVING EMAIL AND SURFING THE NET:

Monday’s Sept. 13, 20, 27 and Oct. 4 and 11

from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. 

Instructor: Gerry Roth. 

Limited to 8 students.  Cost:  $35.00. Learn to send and receive Email

to your children or grandchildren or friends where ever they live.  

After the Email part of the course you will learn how to get around

on the internet, e.g. how to buy online, drug interactions, how

to find a doctor, how much to pay for a car and lots more. 

Some knowledge of using computers will be helpful. 

 

SENIOR FALL FLING:  Thursday, September 23 from 10:00 AM

at the Court in the King of Prussia Mall.  

Sign up sheets are on the reception desk in the lobby.

 

ROYAL BANK AMERICA:  Friday, September 24 at 10:00 AM.  

Michael Rantuccio, V.P. of US Mortgage Bankers, Inc. will give

a presentation on various mortgage products that would benefit

seniors such as: reverse mortgages, refinancing and loan

modifications. Royal Bank America representatives will discuss

pros of banking on line/bill pay, direct deposit of social security

and other pension/retirement funds.  Personal hands

on demonstrations of on line banking/bill pay

in Computer Room after formal presentation.

 

AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM8-Hour Course: 

Tuesday, Sept. 28 and Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. 

4-Hour Refresher Course: Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.  

Cost: AARP Members $12.00 and Non-members $14.00.

RAINBOW DINNER THEATER:  Tuesday, October 12, “The Busybody”. 

When the office cleaning lady who knows everyone’s business

discovers a dead body who isn’t really dead, it’s time to call 911. 

This is a mystery with plenty of twists and turns and one very worn

out detective who is trying to straighten it all out. Amid laughter and

thrills Mrs. Piper and Detective Baxter get to the bottom of the case.

Join us for a murder mystery comedy that would make Agatha Christie

stand up and cheer!

Includes transportation, buffet meal and show. 

Cost: $55 Bus departs Center at 10:00 AM.  Limited to 50 people.

We have scheduled “Meet the Candidates” for Monday, October 4th

prior to the November General Election Day of November 2nd. 

Mark your calendars and we will be sure to remind you via our

meetings and newsletter.

 

UMSSC CRAFT FAIR AND BAKE SALE

 Our Annual Holiday Craft Fair and Bake Sale will be held on Saturday,

October 16 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Crafter spaces are $20.00. 

What a day we have planned!

 

Here is just a taste of what will be going on:  crafts and holiday décor,

baked goods, candy cupboard, café dining, gift basket raffles,

pictures with Santa Claus and Chance Drawings. It promises to be

a fun-filled day, rain or shine.  So mark your calendar and plan to come

with your family and friends!

 

During one of our planning and brainstorming meetings Chairperson

Helen Cabrey suggested that we sell books of chance tickets

to help raise additional funds for the Senior Center

The Ticket Books  will be mailed out to our membership

and they can either purchase the tickets or sell them on behalf

of the Center.   

Royal Bank has graciously offered to pick up the cost of printing

the books which will be mailed out by the middle of August. 

We hope that you all will support this cause as all proceeds

will benefit Senior Center programs.
